We now jump straight to the next dot, Shem. What do we know about Shem from Genesis 9?
- He’s the firstborn son of ___________
- He helped to _________________
- Per the statement in Genesis 9:26 _______________
Besides the information from Genesis 9, we don’t get to know much else about Shem. From there it jumps into his family line and leads us to another genealogy, which brings us to dot 21. Before we get there though, let’s look at this genealogy.
Read Genesis 11:10-31
As before take note of the age range. Who was the oldest? Who was the youngest?
What was the vast age range in which they bore their first child?
Compare this to the last genealogy. What do you notice?
Until Terah, we don’t get much else than ages. We do get some information about Peleg, through. Read Genesis 10:21-24. What do we find out about him? What does his name mean?

I don’t know about you, but it took me 3 different attempts to get that sorted out. What a mess!
What does it say about Sarai?
What location is mentioned twice? What happened there?
Where and who traveled from there?
Where were they originally intending to travel?
Look up those 3 locations in Bible times, write down your findings, and compare the 3:
Deeper Reflection Question:
What did this teach me about God?
What did this teach me about people (or myself)?
What should I do in response to this?
Who can I tell about what God is teaching me?
