CDJ Chapter Four: Day One - Dot 10: Noah

CHAPTER FouR: Day one

Dot 10: Noah

1,656 years into the genealogy we find Noah. When I read about the world's state at the time, I hope, along with Lamech, that God had destined Noah to bring relief to the world.

Day 1: Read Genesis 6:5-22

Why did the Lord regret that He had made man?

What was He going to do?

Describe Noah:

Describe the ark in your words/look into it. Instead of measurements find out what the size of the ark compares to. Look up gopher wood, what trees might that have been?

Who did God save in the ark?

Read Genesis 7

Contrary to what is taught in children’s Bible and stories, God did not ask Noah to bring only 1 pair of eachanimal. How many did He ask Noah to bring?

Note different times/timelines that are mentioned:

  • Noah’s age when the flood started:
  • How long it rained for:
  • How long there was water on the earth:
  • The date the flood started:
  • How many days after they started loading did the flood water start?

What was wiped out because of the flood?

How high did the water go?

How was the big door on the ark shut?

Deeper Reflection Question:

What did this teach me about God?

What did this teach me about people (or myself)?

What should I do in response to this?

Who can I tell about what God is teaching me?
