Day 2: Read Genesis 8-9
Take notes of times mentioned:
- How long did the water recede for?
- What’s the date that the mountain rested on the mount of Arat?
- When were the mountain tops were visible?
- How much later was it until Noah opened the window?
- When did Noah remove the cover?
- When was the earth dry?
How did the water subside?
What were the two birds Noah sent and how many times did he send each?
When did they come out of the ark?
What was the first thing Noah did upon leaving the ark?
Write out Genesis 9:1-2. Who else was told this?
Human bloodshed is deemed most important, why?
What promise did God mke?
What is the sign, stil today, of that promise?
“As a man of soil” does this bring anything to mind for you?
Genesis 9:20-24 There are three different thoughts that I’ve heard on these verse.
- Ham had sexual relations with Noah.
- Noah’s nakeness refers to his wife. Ham had sexual relations with her.
- Going back to Genesis 3, nakedness = exposure, shame. It’s a story that reflects the fall.
What are your thoughts?
Who will be our next dot?
Deeper Reflection Question:
What did this teach me about God?
What did this teach me about people (or myself)?
What should I do in response to this?
Who can I tell about what God is teaching me?
